Wilma Mildred Tatlock Newcomer, 92 of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:01 AM on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born on December 3, 1922 in Indianapolis to Link Tatlock and Essie Brown Tatlock. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Wilbur Charles Newcomer, her parents Link and Essie Tatlock, brother Herschel Tatlock, sisters Madge Dove and Ruth Drumb and two infant siblings. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Cynthia Weir and husband Tim of Prairieton, Susan Gardner and husband Larry of Terre Haute, grandchildren Mickey Adkins, Rachel Norris, Chris Weir, and Toby Weir, brother-in-law Marlin Newcomer, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her faithful dog, Cash. She was a member of Pimento Eastern Star and, in her day, was an avid cook and skilled baker. She was fiercely loyal to her family, was of strong will and believed in speaking what was on her mind. Over the years, she worked as a waitress at the Hacienda Restaurant in Pimento, was an assembly worker at Glasco and had most recently retired from Quality Control at Pfizer's in 1986 after 34 years of loyal service. Viewing is Monday, September 28, 2015 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 pm at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley. Services will be conducted by Rev. Duane Caperton from the Prairieton United Methodist Church. The family would like to give a special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice and Terre Haute Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wilma's memory to your favorite local charity.
