Wayne D. Watson, 91, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday September 24, 2026 in Gibson family hospice Center. Wayne retired after 44 years with Pepsi as a route driver and working in the warehouse. He was born March 14, 1935 in Terre Haute to Clark Wayne and Vivian Bennett (Miller) Watson. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Helen (Kosarko) Watson, sons, Michael Dale Watson (Debbie) and Joseph Wayne Watson; sisters, Vicki Blitz and Patsy Hall; brother, Larry Watson; grandchildren, Melissa Watson Smith (Nick), Matthew Watson (Rene), Elizabeth Stott (Brandon), Meagan Maren (Darrick), and Robert Montarsi; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, David Michael Watson; great-granddaughter, Sloane Watson Smite, sisters, Shirley Garvey and Kay Francis and brothers, Jerry Watson, Gary Watson, and Kenny Watson. Wayne was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Hungarian Hall. He loved sports and help start the Terre Town Baseball League, and also enjoyed watching the Colts, Pacers and IU. Wayne was also and avid golfer and was able to play until he was 85 years old. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday October 3, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 3:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
