Wayne Leslie Shaw, II, 80, of Terre Haute passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at his home. He was born July 17, 1943, in Indianapolis to Wayne Leslie Shaw and Dorothy (Wells) Shaw Rohmann. Wayne worked as an engineer and homebuilder working closely with architects to develop commercial and residential properties. He was a very talented artist, painting stunning portraits and landscapes. One of his favorite pastimes was going to Denny's every morning for coffee. Wayne was a cowboy at heart. He lived in Texas in his 30's and later moved there again. Even in Terre Haute he always wore a cowboy hat and enjoyed riding horses. During the blizzard in January 1974 there was a local news story about Wayne and his horse. While no one was able to travel and be out, there was Wayne in the snow horseback riding. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Church. Wayne was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by many.
Wayne is survived by his wife Stella Shaw. Former wife Marge Shaw who is the mother of his sons Wayne L. Shaw III and Tim Shaw. He is also survived by daughter Whitney Shaw, grandchildren Rachel Shaw, Samantha Shaw, Dylan Shaw, Raiden Long, and William Long. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Greg Shaw, and former wife Chris Shaw.
Visitation will be Saturday March 30, 2024 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with a Celebration of Life starting at 3:00pm in the funeral home. Pastor Rick Swan will officiate.
