Volley “Gene” Eugene Tanner, 71, of Terre Haute passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026. He was born in Terre Haute on April 9, 1955, to Dallas Tanner and Helen Maxine Loveall Tanner. Gene spent many dedicated years as a fireman and paramedic. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Swan officiating.
