Vera B. Cooke, 98, passed away at her home in Terre Haute on November 11, 2020.  She was born on April 28, 1922 to Charles M. Slusser and Emma J. Austin Slusser.  Vera is preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne Cooke; son Chuck Cooke, as well as her siblings James "Bud" Slusser, Geraldine Cottom, Marcella Moore, and Alberta Bailey.  She is survived by her daughters Linda Bennett (Larry) and LuAnn Roesch (Larry); daughter-in-law Pat Cooke; grandchildren Clay Cooke and Jessica Cooke; great-grandchildren Kiyah Tatum, Cooper Cooke, Ella , and Olivia Cooke; step grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Vera was a member of Rio Grande Baptist Church.  She enjoyed needle work, loved cooking, but more than anything, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vera had a huge love for animals, her dogs more than any of them.  Per Vera's final wishes cremation has been chosen with a celebration of life at a later date.
