T. Darlene Olinger, age 88, died on January 8th, 2016. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 2505 College Ave. on February 20th at 10 AM. The service will be officiated by Dr. James Gibson. Mrs. Olinger exemplified all of the characteristics often attributed to the "Greatest Generation". She was born to Ira & Mazzie Daniels in Scottsbluff NE, where she was raised with three sisters and two brothers, who have all preceded her in death. She was married in 1945 to Raymond Olinger, who passed in 1997. She has two children, Mitchell Olinger of Hartsville, SC and Patricia (Richard) Dalton of Lindenhurst, IL. She is also survived by four grand children, Andrew (Wanda) Lawrence, David (Jennifer) Lawrence, Shelly (Brian) Keller, and Peter (Leanne) Olinger, as well as seven great-grand children. Darlene lived for over 60 years at her residence on Washington Avenue, Terre Haute, which is where her primary employment was for over 30 years as a beautician. Since July 2015 she was a resident of Harrison's Crossing nursing facility. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 2505 College Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47803; or to the charity of your choice.
