Star Joy Dwyer, 54, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026. She was born on June 28, 1971, in Terre Haute to Teddy Wagner and Joy Huey Wagner. Star took joy in the simple things in life like watching her shows and playing slots on the computer. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Star had a great sense of humor and brought a bit of fun and laughter to those around her. She loved her dog Midgy. Most of all being with her family, especially her children and grandchild, gave her the most happiness. She will be sadly missed by those that loved her.

She is survived by her sons John Smithson Jr. and Steven Dwyer, granddaughter Ashlyn Smithson, siblings Toni Wagner, Larry Stout, and Cheri Carr, and nephews Teddy Wagner and Gabe Wagner. Star was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home.
