Shirley Ruth Christjansen, 77, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021.  She was born October 31, 1943 in West Terre Haute to Virgil Lawson and Ioma Yocum Walton.  Shirley was a talented artist and an avid gardener.  She was a gifted musician able to play the guitar, piano, and accordion.  She also loved to sing.  Shirley was a member of the First Assembly of God in West Terre Haute.  She was a social butterfly and never knew a stranger.  Shirley had a big heart and was a fun-loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years,  Mark Christjansen, daughters Annette Thom and Denise Morgan; sons Scott Laskowski (Jim), Jon Christjansen, Matthew Christjansen (Elizabeth), and Benjamin Christjansen (Stacey); grandchildren Daniel Morgan, Amos Morgan, Jessica Thom (finance Brittany McWilliams), Sara Thom (fiancé Sam Eberle), Corynn Christjansen, Kaelin Christjansen, Logan Dillon, Desmond Christjansen, Leif Christjansen, and Callisto Christjansen; and great-grandson Jaxon Morgan, and sister-in-law Susan Lawson.  Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jack Lawson,.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Randy Smith will be officiating.  Burial will be at New Harmony Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
