Obituary

Sherman B. Bratcher, 75, of Terre Haute, IN died at his home on October 31, 2014. He was born May 14, 1939 in Parke County, IN to Lovid and Helen Minton Bratcher. Sherman was retired from Anaconda as a rolling mill operator and also from Edwards Service Center and Wal-Mart. He served his country in the Army Reserve and the National Guard. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marcella, son Kevin and his wife Ronalda of Greenfield, IN, daughter Kendra and her partner Ronda Harvey of Terre Haute ,In , four grandchildren ; Dana (Jim) Conner, Staci (Cliff) Einspahr, Jeremy (Brittany) Edwards and Brandon Edwards and his girlfriend Maritta, two great grandchildren; Maci Ford and Jayce Edwards. Also surviving are two brothers James (Barbara) Bratcher and Maurice Bratcher and sister Lula Bell (Dennis) Wisdom , a sister-in-law ; Karen (Jack) McCammon and several nieces and nephews. Sherman was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Dewey Bratcher and Eugene Bratcher and two sisters; Viola May Strain and Georgia Hobson and their special miniature schnauzer dog Mason Alexander. Sherman enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandkids, woodworking , vegetable and flower gardening and cooking. He won special awards for fundraising for Riley Children's Hospital and was a former Cub Scout leader and neighborhood commissioner for the Cub Scouts. He formerly attended the Church of the Nazarene. Visitation for Sherman will at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. on Tuesday , November 4, 2014 from 11-1. Services will be at 1 PM with Rev. Brad Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Rockville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
