Sharon Lynne Verostko Oakley,73, entered the gates of Heaven Sunday, October 16, 2022.  She died peacefully at her home.  She was preceded in death by her parents John Verostko and Vivian Weaks; step-father Wayne Grose, step-father Bill Weaks, as well as her brother Mark Verostko.  Sharon is survived by her twin brother John (Gale), sister Darcy Gray (Chris); step-sister Rita Grose; nephews Kyle Gosnell (Brittany) and Reilly Gray; 2 great-nieces Hayden and Amelia; 1 great-nephew Maddox; her sweet beloved dog Rookie, as well as many cousins and life long friends.  Sharon graduated from Garfield High School in 1967.  She achieved her life-long dream of becoming a flight attendant and retired from American Transair in 2009.  Sharon enjoyed traveling the World and loved sharing her experiences with friends and family.  In 2001 Sharon moved to Borden, IN to be with her beloved sister Darcy and two precious nephews Kyle and Reilly.  She returned to her home town of Terre Haute in 2019 to spend time with her twin brother John and his wife and many friends.  Sharon had a green thumb and she spent many hours in her flower garden.  She had a passion for yardwork.  Visitation for Sharon will be held on Friday October 28 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 1:00-3:00 PM with services starting at 3:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers family asks that donations can be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society, 1811 South Fruitridge Ave. Terre Haute, IN 47803.
