Sandra (Sandy) Kay Kelly, 83, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on August 11 in Terre Haute.

Born on August 16, 1942 in Terre Haute, Sandy was the daughter of Hank Hild and Eula Kirkman.

Sandy lived almost her entire life on the land she grew up on, north of Terre Haute, a place that she made a warm home where she loved to welcome family and friends. Sandy was a voracious reader, an avid bowler, a sharp card player, a dedicated gardner, and a diehard fan of both Jeopardy! and IU basketball. She was also a passionate home cook and one of her great joys was cooking for her loved ones. Above all, her family was the center of her world and there was nothing she loved more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Sandy is survived by her brother William and his wife, Myra; her son, Tommy and his wife, Gloria; her daughter Sheri; seven grandchildren: Cheyenne, Tristan, Zachary, Clayton, Gabrielle, Madison, and Sean; and seven great-grandchildren: Noah, Torrence, Zoey, Andi, Holden, Simon, and Hayden. Sandy was preceded in death by husband, Tom, aunt Helen, brothers Richard and Dwayne, and sister Judith.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 15 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors, in Sandy’s memory.
