Sandra K. "Sandy" Alberts, 75, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday December 23, 2017 at IU University Hospital in Indianapolis. She dedicated herself to her many patients while working as a Registered Nurse, retiring after 40 plus years of service. Sandy was born July 2, 1942 in Donovan, IL to Edwin "Ole" Lindlow and Dorothy Mae (Rich) Lindlow. She is survived by sons, Tim Alberts (Kristina) of Kalamazoo, MI and Todd Alberts of Terre Haute; sister, Karen Van Duyn of Lake Village, IN; brother, David Lindlow of Morocco, IN; very special family friends, Lisa and Darrel Jennings and she was a surrogate grandmother to Nathan and Joshua Jennings; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donnie Lindlow. Sandy was a 1960 graduate of Morocco High School and a 1963 graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing in Kankakee, IL. She was an avid baker and cook and enjoyed spoiling those closest to her. She was an absolute magnet to children and she spent many years mentoring hundreds of nursing students. She loved working in her garden and was well known for her "unique" sense of humor. Sandy also felt so strongly about helping other people, that she felt everyone should be an organ donor as she was, and urges those around her to enroll in donation programs to benefit others. There will be a Informal Gathering of Friends (as Sandy requested) from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at DeBaun Springhill Chapel in Terre Haute on Friday December 29, 2017.
