Samuel Lee McKinney, 61, of Terre Haute, Indiana went to be with the Lord November 3, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his father Harry McKinney.

Sam is remembered by his wife, Glonay McKinney, son, Travis McKinney, daughter, Cachea O’Rourke (Sean), mother, Sharon Crabb, stepfather, Larry Crabb, sister, Michelle Smith (Ray) and several friends and extended family who loved him very much.

Sam was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back if he knew someone needed it more than him. He would drop whatever he was doing to help a complete stranger. His faith was very important to him. He would go to church every Sunday, rain or shine. You’d often find him up at the altar singing for the congregation and worshipping the Lord any chance he could get. He would practice each song all week, no matter where he was or what he was doing.

He was very loyal to his family as well. He would always show up for his family in every capacity. He’d be there in a heartbeat if any of his family needed him. Sam had a heart of gold and a humor that could make anyone smile on their worst day. The world is a little less bright now that he is gone, but Heaven is a lot brighter now having gained him.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2026, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Services will begin at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home.
