Sally Joan Brown, 73 of Terre Haute, passed away at 8:15 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 8:15 PM in Springhill Village Convalescent Center. She was born in Terre Haute on December 21, 1941 to Jesse Richey and Ruby Faye Wilson Richey. She is survived by five children; James Payne, Jr. (Ruth Ann), Timothy Payne (Cara), Rebecca Beard (David), Ritchie Payne (Marian), and Beth Orndorff (Larry). Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; Brittany Orndorff, Dustin Orndorff, Aiden Orndorff, Jesse James Payne, Angelus Ray Payne, Vanessa Tenpenny (Shane), Tasha Peach (Johnny), Christina Blagburn (Roger), Tiffney Beard, David Beard, George Payne, Krystal Payne (Cole), Christina Elkins (Samantha), Angela Elkins (Josh), James Elkins (Andrea), Stephanie Hayne, and John White, and 16 great grandchildren. Sally is also survived by a brother, Jesse Richey (Roseann), and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald Brown, and 3 brothers; Phillip Richey, William Richey, and David Richey. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel, 2221 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 6:00 PM. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Prairie Creek Westlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Funeral Homes and Crematory.
