Ruth M. Criss, 97, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022.  She was born in Patricksburg, Indiana on July 10, 1925 to Densford and Berneice Martin.  Ruth was a lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she was very active in choir and other committees.  She was also a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She retired from General Telephone Company.  Most of all, Ruth loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was survived by her son Gregg Criss (Anita), daughters Leanne Braden (Richard), Amy Thompson (John), grandchildren Cristi Pittman (Chad), Coley Criss, Stacey Byerly (Scott), Cara Donovan (Dan), Zach Thompson (Erin), and Hannah Watkins (Michael), thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, and brother James Martin. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Criss, son John Criss, and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  The family would like to thank Stephanie, Sabrina, and Katie, for all the love and special care given to Ruth. In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Ruth can be made to the Mt.
