Russell Lee Gilliland, 67, of Terre Haute passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at his home. He was born on September 19, 1958, in Terre Haute to Beulah Houser Gilliland. Russ was a great dad. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed fishing and the simple things in life, especially a cold Busch beer. Russ was a dedicated supporter of several charities, including the VFW and Fraternal Order of Police. His presence will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his children Dawn Higginbotham, Amy Horton (Phil), Dustin Gilliland (Kelly), Sherry Thomas (Bill), Crystal McCullough, and Janice Gilliland, several beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings Robert Gilliland (Denise), Mike Gilliland, Lori Skelly, and Debbie Kenworthy (Scott), several nieces and nephews, and his beloved canine companion, Roscoe. Russ was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Gilliland.

Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in remembrance of Russell to the charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
