Russ Myers, 51 of Farmersburg, passed away at 1:10 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Bucks County, PA., his parents are Don Myers and Joye Stiffey Myers of Saltsburg, PA. Russ was a veteran of the United States Air Force, member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where he was active in the Church Youth Group (JAM), the Assn. of Insurance Professionals (AIP), and the Indiana Officials Assn. He officiated several sports for over 30 years, but softball was his favorite, and he would rather be behind home plate than anywhere else. He is survived by his wife Marsha Walters Myers, 2 daughters, Heather Myers (& fiancAC. Trevor Burch) and Meagan Myers (& fiancAC. Andrew Konkey). Also surviving are his parents, Don & Joye Myers, his biological mother, Joan Cichon (& husband Frank), his sister Janet Doland, and brother Kenny Doland (& wife Lurinda), as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Russ was preceded in death by his biological father, Harold Doland. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Jeff Blansett officiating. Burial will follow in Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions are made to the Youth Activities at Ebenezer United Methodist Church or the Indiana Officials Assn. Scholarship Fund, in his memory. Envelopes will be available or donations for the scholarship fund can be made at First Financial Bank.
