Ronald R. "Ron" Hughes, 84, of Paris, Illinois and formerly of Fairbanks, IN passed away Wednesday February 19, 2020 at Union Hospital. He retired from the Indiana-Michigan Breed Power Plant. He was born December 25, 1935 in Sullivan County to Gerald and Bessie (Harris) Hughes. Ron is survived by his wife, Margaret "Margie" (Richardson) Hughes, whom he married July 30, 1999; son, Todd Hughes (Jill) of Noblesville; grandchildren, Tanner Hughes and Kelsey Hughes and a brother, Bob Hughes. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (VanSant) Hughes, whom he married August 4, 1957, and she passed away in 1993. Ron was a US Army Veteran. He was former owner of Hughes Hardware in Fairbanks, IN. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of Northeast School Corporation of Sullivan County. Visitation will be Saturday February 22, 2020 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services in the funeral home at 12:00 pm with Reverend Don Ransford officiating. Burial will be in Pogue Cemetery.
