Obituary

Ronald James Knopp, 74, of Terre Haute passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024.  He was born October 10, 1949, in Terre Haute to Homer J. Knopp and Mary L. Beddow Knopp.  Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army in Viet Nam.  He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.  He worked at Midland Glass and Forsythe Brothers.  Ronald was a member of the American Legion Post #328 Riley, Valley of Terre Haute Scottish Rite MSA, and the Riley Masonic Lodge #390.  Most of all he was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene K. Knopp, daughter Rhonda Okeli (John), son Homer Knopp (Hollie), grandchildren Nick, Zach, Collin, Jenna, Matt, Sarah, and Chase; and several great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Terry Earl Knopp, Homer Dean Knopp and George Crock.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Masonic Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.  Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mark Grayless will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
