Ronald E. "Ron" Matherly, 74, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday March 9, 2024 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was a retired Central Control Operator at Ampacet. Ron was born April 28, 1949 in Terre Haute to Leonard and Nellie (Griffith) Matherly. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda (Sankey) Matherly; daughters, Kelly Matherly Stuffle and Wendy Swiger (Mark); sister, Darlene Knopp; brother, Leonard Matherly (Vicki); grandchildren, Robert Thomas Brown III (Katie), Audrey Fields (Travis), Sierra Crucitti (Jorgen), and Alena Stuffle; great-grandchildren, Jase Fields and Bristol Fields; friends, Mike and Ruth McCullough and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gary Matherly and Rick Matherly. Ron was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Visitation will be Thursday March 14, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor David Smith officiating.
