Roberta R. Bays, 87, of Terre Haute passed away Friday October 4, 2024 in her residence. She was born August 21, 1937 in Terre Haute to William Earl and Ruth Francis (Gilbert) Drake. Roberta is survived by her daughters, Dianna McGranahan, Darla Bays, Cheryl Bays Arnett, and Carolyn Rader (James); sons, David Bradbury (Delana), Gary Bays (Jennifer), and Wayne Bays (Cindy Cox); brother, Dwayne Drake (Pam); 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren (with one on the way) and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Herbert Bradbury, and second husband James Bays, who passed October 17, 2017; sister, Sue Fagg; brothers, Charles Drake, Robert Drake, Jerry Drake, William Gordon Drake, and Dale Drake and a granddaughter. Roberta was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved going to church and singing church songs. She also enjoyed camping, sewing, and gardening. Visitation will be Sunday October 13, 2024 from Noon until 2:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Williams officiating.
