Robert D. Wilson, 84, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday December 19, 2015 at 11:53 pm in IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a bricklayer and a member of the Bricklayers Local #4 for 50 years. Robert was born July 13, 1931 in Prairie Creek, IN to Alva Wilson and Amanda May (Bowman) Wilson. He is survived by, his wife of 60 years, Beverly Jane (Miller) Wilson, whom he married November 26, 1955; a daughter, Vicki Michael and husband Kevin of Terre Haute; a son, Bob Wilson and wife Pamela of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Joseph L. Michael and wife Heather, Lisa R. Walker and husband Ivan, Breann M. Wilson, and Lyndsey J. Wilson; great grandchildren, Anslee Michael, Preslee Michael, Rylie Walker, and Ella Walker; a sister, Doris Miller of Terre Haute and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Janita Jones, Kathryn Keller, and Charlene Steinhauser, and brothers, Denzil Wilson and Dean Wilson. Robert was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a P.O.W. for 2 ½ years. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of American Legion Post #346. He was also a member of the Union Christian church for 34 years. Robert enjoyed Hunting, fishing, and camping in Florida, where he and his wife spent 6 months a year, he also enjoyed bowling and boating and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, grand kids, and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday December 23, 2015 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with funeral services on Wednesday December 23, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Grayless officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park with military graveside honors.
