Robert Buckner, 74, passed away on July 25, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born in Paris, IL on November 18, 1946 to Forrest Wendell Buckner and Martha Millhouse Buckner. Robert was preceded in death by both parents; first wife, Nancy Jean Bumpus Buckner; Brother Ronald Gerome Buckner as well as his favorite aunt, Catherine Findley. He is survived by his wife Barbara Zabik Buckner; daughter Elise Pratt (John); son Timothy Buckner; step-daughter Sherry Wood (Greg); grandchild Wesley Curt Pratt; step-grandchildren Emily and Aaron Nehls. Robert was a graduate of Marshall High School class of 1964. He was owner and operator of BFM Manufacturing Company. Robert was a member of First Baptist Church in Hutsonville, IL. He also was a member of the American Legion, NRA, and the Sullivan County Conservation Club. Robert enjoyed gun smith work, working with metal, and welding. He was a dedicated student of the Bible. Robert loved music and would often attend Community Band Concerts. He was very adventurous and enjoyed his Corvettes, so much that he owned several. Robert was very fun loving, having many friends. More than anything he loved spending time with his family, especially his youngest grandson Wesley. He enjoyed attending Wesley's 4-H events. Visitation for Robert will be held on Thursday, July 29 at DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel from 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM with services starting at 2:30. There will be a private burial for Robert at a later time. Pastor Joe Griffith will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family please asks that donation be made to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Samaritan's Purse. The family would like to express their thanks for the exceptional care given to Robert by the entire staff of Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
