Richard Lee Whitaker, Jr., 56, of Montezuma, Indiana passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026.  He was born to Richard Whitaker and Sharon (Grady) Whitaker on August 25, 1969 in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Rich worked in receiving in the aviation industry.  He married his wife, Susan (Smith) Whitaker on January 28, 2023.

In his free time, Rich enjoyed fishing.  He was extremely artistically talented – drawing and woodworking were his main focuses.

Rich is preceded in death by his father.

Rich is survived by his loving wife; his mother; sons, Kaden Whitaker and Brad Wilcox (Jorden); daughter, Lexi Reed (Danny); brother, Kevin Whitaker (Angela); grandchildren, Violet Wilcox, Liam Wilcox, Mason Wilcox, Corbin Cramer, Rilee Cramer; niece, Sammie Whitaker; nephew, Justin Asbury (Fonda); sister-in-law, Jeri Row (Daniel); brother-in-law, Andy Smith (Sharon); several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
