Richard Lee Schwenk, 80, passed away on January 23, 2021.  He was born February 4, 1940 to Arnold Schwenk and Ruth Pannett Schwenk in Livermore, KY.  Richard is preceded in death by both parents, as well as his brother Gene Schwenk.  He is survived by his wife Nancy Schwenk; son Michael Schwenk; daughter Terri Schwenk, all of Terre Haute, and sister Patricia Metzger (Ronald) of Elkriver MN.  Richard graduated from high school in LaPorte, IN in 1958.  Nancy and he were married at First Church of God in Laporte in 1958.  Richard retired from GTE, where he worked as a supervisor.  He was a member of Maryland Community Church.  Richard worked with mission groups.  He volunteered at New Tribe Missions in Florida, missions in Burma, and Guatemala as well.  Richard belonged to Pleasant Township Lions Club.  He loved traveling with Mission Groups, water skiing, as well as reading.  He was always working to help others.  Visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday, January 28 at DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel from 4-6:00 PM with a service beginning at 6:00 PM.
