Richard Wayne Jeffers, 63 of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:13 PM on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute on May 21, 1952 to Theodore Jeffers, Jr. and Helen Withem Jeffers. Richard is survived by his wife Sheila Sutton Jeffers, whom he married December 28, 1974, his son Jason Alan Jeffers, and mother Helen Jeffers. Also surviving are a sister, Peggy Ann Hutson, and a brother, Steve Jeffers, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, and his daughter, Heather Marie Jeffers. Richard was a volunteer fireman for the Farmersburg Vol. Fire Dept. for 18 plus years, was President of the Woodgate Home Owners Association, was the long-time treasurer and developer of the Farmersburg Friends of the Park, and also was an Eagle Scout. A Celebration of Life will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Gene Gilbreath officiating. Visitation is on Saturday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Farmersburg Friends of the Park, P. O.
