Richard "Tom" Fuson, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10:03 AM in his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Terre Haute on January 30, 1936 to Frank Fuson and Mary Walker Fuson. Tom served in the U.S. Air Force, was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, and a member of American Legion Post # 104. He retired from General Telephone Company where he worked for 36 years, and also worked at Sam's Club for 8 years as door greeter. Tom was an avid outdoorsman, he loved mushroom hunting, fishing with his grandkids, gardening, reading the newspaper, going to Hardees every morning, and playing with his great grandchildren. Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret "Sis" Burkhart Fuson. He has been the love of her life since she was 16 years old. He is also survived by his children Frank Fuson (Tammy), Paul Fuson (Cheryl), and Ginger Anderson (Mark). Also surviving are his grandchildren Daniel Wallace, David Wallace (Jennifer), Dustin Wallace (Chelsea), Trevor Fuson, Brittany Hayley Fuson, Devon Fuson, Jerad Fuson, and Lindsey Fuson. Other survivors include three great grandchildren; Liam Cobb, A.J. Wallace, and Sophia Wallace, as well as a sister, Virginia Dragon (David), and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bud and John Fuson, and 6 sisters; Leora Lloyd, June Martin, Margaret Jaeger, Shug Ammerman, Helen Barkman, and Della Francis. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM, with Pastors Dennis Ticen and Rick Swan officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice, in his memory.
