Richard E. Conrad, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, at 9:30am, Sunday November 17, 2013. He was born on May 11, 1928 in Terre Haute, to Byron Conrad and Audrey (Turner) Conrad and graduated president of the Garfield High School class of 1946. Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan (Murle) Conrad; son Mark Conrad of Washington, DC; sister-in-law Ella Conrad of Rogers, Arkansas; and nephews Robert Conrad, Jr. of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Steve Conrad of Rogers, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his daughter Elaine Conrad; his parents and twin brother Robert E. Conrad, Sr. Richard retired from First Financial Bank in 1990 after more than 40 years of service. He was active in many community service organizations, including the Board of Directors of Union Hospital, Terre Haute Symphony, United Cerebral Palsy and VNA. Funeral services for Richard will be 12:00 noon Wednesday November 20, 2013 at Debaun Funeral Home, 85 E. Springhill Dr. in Terre Haute with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 Wednesday. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Richard's name to Honey Creek Fire Department, VNA Hospice of the Wabash Valley or your favorite charity.
