Retta Faye Harding

Retta Faye was born in Brazil In. to William L. Griffith and Dorthy K. Lalen Griffith.

Retta met the love of her life Clifford Harding at Krogers where they work together in the meat shop.

Retta and Clifford married on June 29th 1958 and were able to celebrate 59 years of marriage.

Ironic enough after meeting at a grocery store the couple went on to own and operate White Acres Food Center in Farmersburg In. for 40 years. Retta and Clifford had a strong work ethic that they passed on to their three daughters.

Retta enjoyed working in her flower gardens, going to festivals, yard sales and flea markets. The Christmas holiday was her favorite time of year especially if it snowed.

Retta also like to be at home enjoying the peacefulness of their pond where she spent hours fishing.

Retta was known for her cooking skills,  her chicken and noodles and homemade cheesecake with carmel sauce were second to none.

Those close to her knew they could always count on her if they needed a helping hand.

Retta was preceded in death by her parents, brother James O. Griffith and sister Dolly M. Price. and special friends Hallie and Floyd Hall.

She is survived by husband Clifford, daughters Deanna Harding, Terri (Jim) Richardson,

Jerri (Mick) Fuson and numerous grandchildren plus great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Southwood Nursing Home, the doctors and nurses at both Union and Regional Hospitals.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association, St.Judes or the Shriners Children's Hospital.

Retta's final wishes were to be cremated and to have a private family ceremony at their home around the pond she loved so

much.

Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Funeral Home and Crematory.
