Singhurse
Rennis Lynn Singhurse, 84 of Terre Haute, passed away at 3:04 PM on Friday, May 17, 2013 in Union Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute on February 12, 1929 to Lynn Singhurse and Mable Simpson Singhurse. Rennis was a farmer and truck driver. He is survived by his wife Joan Hughes Singhurse, whom he married August 16, 1950. Also surviving are his children Kim Singhurse & his wife RoAnn, and Ann Becraft & her husband Bob. Other survivors include his grandchildren; Dustin Spitler, Shane Spiter, Grant Singhurse, and also stepgrandchildren Damon, Trevor, and Steve Jarvis. In addition, he is survived by his great grandchildren; Ava Singhurse, Clara Spitler, Jack Spitler, & Nora Spitler, and step-great grandchildren Alex, Nick, J.D., Preston, and Ty Jarvis. He was preceded in death by his daughter Shawn Spitler, and after her death eight months ago, he was left broken-hearted. His memberships include Union Baptist Church, where he was the oldest living member, Vigo Masonic Lodge # 29 F & AM—where he served as Secretary for many years, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, and the Zorah Shrine. Rennis was a life member of Indiana Farm Bureau and was also a member of the Farm Bureau Co-Op, and served on many boards with both organizations. A Celebration of Life will be held at Union Baptist Church, 4075 E. Harlan Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802 on Monday, May 20. 2013 at 7:00 PM, with his grandson, Pastor Dustin Spitler as well as Pastor Rod Maris officiating. A Masonic Lodge Service will be provided by Masonic Lodge # 29 F & AM prior to The Celebration of Life service. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Rennis Singhurse and Shawn Spitler Memorial Fund at First Financial Bank, in their memories. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Funeral Homes and Crematory.
