Rena (Presnell) Goode, of Sullivan, Indiana died peacefully in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 9, 2020. She was 73 years old. She was born on December 10, 1946 in Pana, Illinois, to Madelayne and Dallas Presnell. She married Galen Goode on August 9, 1969. She had a love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family. Mrs. Goode is a 1965 graduate of Pana High School. She was the first in her family to attend and graduate college, having earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Greenville College in 1969. She later earned a Masters Degree from Indiana State University. She worked in the field of medical technology at Springfield Memorial Hospital and Terre Haute Medical Lab. She was passionate for teaching and touching the lives of first generation college students and taught at Ivy Tech Community College for nearly 20 years. She intentionally put her career on hold to raise her children and volunteer in community and faith based initiatives. She also worked as a small business owner and teacher's aide. A person of great faith, she was active in churches in every community where she resided, teaching Sunday school and singing in church choirs. She was most recently a member of Sullivan First Christian Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques with her husband, boating, reading, travelling, and was a loyal fan of Indiana State University basketball teams. Mrs. Goode is survived by her sons, Gregory (Leslie) and Sean (Christa) Goode; her grandchildren, Jackson, Cecelia, Sophia, Carmella, and Christian Goode; and her siblings, John Presnell, Mara Randolph, Barbara Perry, and Randal Presnell. A visitation open to the public is scheduled for December 15, 2020 from 10:30- 12:30 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, Terre Haute, Indiana. Funeral services will be private due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the Honorable Craig McKee officiating.
