Raymond E. Allen, 82 of Terre Haute, passed away at 1:50 AM on Monday, October 20, 2014. He was born in Odon, IN on December 3, 1931 to John F. Allen and Alice Woods Allen. Raymond retired from Culligan Soft Water after 37 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia L. Gwin Allen, daughter Lori J. Montgomery (husband David), and son Jeffrey L. Allen (wife Linda). Also surviving are four grandchildren; Raymond Montgomery, Kevin Montgomery, Rachel Allen, and Matthew Allen. In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Mary M. Frey and Wilma Corby. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ralph Allen, Anna Evans, and Donna Mullins. He was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and served in the Korean War in the Army Corp. of Engineers. His memberships include Riley American Legion Post # 328 and Teamsters Local # 144. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Wabash Ave. Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave., on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Jeff Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
