Obituary

Phyllis Irene Shannon passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at her home in Farmersburg, Indiana.  Born Nov. 5, 1944 in Dugger, Indiana to Thurman Sheldon and Jeanette Myrle (Crawford) Tatlock.

Phyllis married Charles (Chuck) Everett Shannon on May 19, 1963 in Dugger, Indiana in a double wedding ceremony along with her brother Richard T Tatlock and his bride Theresa Rose Smith.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Chuck and her son Kevin, as well as, her parents (Thurman and Jeanette Tatlock) and her brothers (Bob and Dick Tatlock).  Surviving Phyllis is her son Darren, his wife Brandi and their children, Greg (19) and Trevor (16); her granddaughter Chloe (Shannon) Certain, her husband Hayden and their children, Avery (9), Ezra (7), and Bohdi (2).  Also surviving is Phyllis' sister, Kathy Vela of Gulf Breeze, Florida, as well as, many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Phyllis will be remembered for her laughter, the way she embraced living each day, her fun-loving spirit, and her obsession for all things sparkly!  Phyllis made everyone she was around feel special and loved.  She was a good mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  She was genuinely a beautiful person both inside and out and will be missed every day by many, many people.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Farmersburg West Lawn Chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. A  Celebration of Life will follow the service from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the  Shelburn American Legion.  Arrangements were entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home.
