Obituary

Paul Edward Larr, born August 31, 1925, died peacefully August 24, 2013 at Cobblestone Nursing Center where he has resided for the last 18 months. He was born in Sullivan, IN to George C. Larr and Nancy Thekla (McDonald) Larr. Paul is survived by his wife of 17 years Karen LaFollette-Larr; his lap dog, Sophie; daughters, Catherine J. Warner and husband Ken and Tamara Butler and husband Larry; grandchildren, Jonathan Warner, Jennifer LaPlante and husband James, and Adam Butler and wife Melissa; great grandchildren, Ruby LaPlante, Evelyn LaPlante, and Conner Butler; step daughters, Jennifer Bigler and husband Ron and Elizabeth LaFollette; step grandchildren, Max and Cam Bigler, and Alex LaFollette; dear cousin, Sondra Modesitt-Rogers and husband Bud, close friends, Judy and Don Haskell, brother-in-law, Jim Thompson and wife Dixie; niece, Jacque Bolton and husband Mike; and the mother of his two daughters, Thomasina Larr. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George C. Larr and Ovid A. Larr, and a grandson, Andrew Butler. Paul was an avid horseback rider, spending 25 years riding the 100 Mile Trail in Corydon, IN State Forest. He also was a great musician, playing the piano in church, the electronic keyboard and guitar around the campfires. He was a Past Master and Treasurer of the Vigo Masonic Lodge #29, F. & A.M., past president of the Western Riders Club. Paul was also a member of the Blackhawk Saddle Club, the Springhill Bowling League both in Terre Haute and Florida, and he was a longtime member of the NE Corporation School Board. The family would like to say thanks to Evan Brand and Brand Farms for continuing to cultivate and care for the farmland that Paul loved so much. As per Paul's request, cremation is scheduled.
