Paul R. "Dink" Tarwater, 89, passed away Saturday July 15, 2017 at 10:33 pm in Union Hospital. He retired from Anchor Glass and was a farmer. He was born February 23, 1928 in Knox County, IN to William Tarwater and Hazel (Conway) Tarwater. Paul is survived by daughters, Julie Stewart (Larry) of Krum, TX and Lisa Beard (Larry) of Terre Haute; sons, Richard Tarwater (Jane) of Terre Haute, Joe Tarwater of Shelburn, and John "Steve" Tarwater (Donna) of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Miller of TN; a brother, Francis Tarwater of Terre Haute and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie Mae (Dishon) Tarwater, a son, Paul Eugene "Butchy" Tarwater, a sister, Kathleen Little, and a brother, Billy Joe Tarwater. Paul was a US Army veteran of WW II and he enjoyed IU Basketball, farming and gardening. Visitation will be Tuesday July 18, 2017 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Reverend James Quick officiating.
