October 1, 1944 – July 14, 2024
On Sunday July 14th,2024 Paul David Brewer, loving husband and father of three passed away at the age of 79 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born October 1, 1944 to Hannah Marie (Porter) and George Elmer Aaron Brewer He married his wife Jacqueline Denise Brewer (Campbell) September 20, 1968, who preceded him in death. Paul was a retired cable splicer from Verizon phone company, formally GTE. He was a member of many organizations throughout his life including VFW Post 972 where he served as Commander for several years. He was an active Boy Scout leader for his sons, did muzzleloading reenactments and was part of several groups within the community. He graduated from West Vigo High School where he was part of the marching band in 1963. After high school he went on to serve in the United States Army, serving one tour in Vietnam.
His favorite things in life were his annual trips to Fort Myers Beach Florida, spending time with family and Christmas around the fire. His love for his family knew no bounds and he truly had the largest heart of anyone. He often came up with quirky nicknames for his grandchildren and family. His humor and heart stood out within his family.
He is survived by his three children Paul David Brewer II, Shanna Marie Neuenschwander (husband Don) and Joshua Aaron Brewer. Six grandchildren Chase Crabb, Liam Neuenschwander, Emma Neuenschwander, Kaeli Ricketts (husband Joseph) Gabrielle Brewer and Aiden Brewer and one great grandchild Sebastian Ricketts. Brother Homer Brewer (wife Brenda), sisters Rachel Orndorf (husband Larry) Edie Porter (husband Alan), and many nieces and nephews. His brother Don Brewer and sister Ruth Harris also preceded him in death.
Visitations will be at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, Terre Haute, Indiana Thursday July 18, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday July 19, 2024 at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers the family suggests sending donations in his honor to St Jude children's Hospital.
