Obituary

Patricia Pinkston, 90, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Cobblestone Health Campus. She was born on July 31, 1930 in Dugger, Indiana to Russell and Tressa (Hawkins) Spencer. Pat was a graduate of Sullivan High School in 1948 and earned an education degree from Indiana State University. She taught at Farmersburg, Pimento, and Hoosier Prairie Elementary. She loved her students as her own and continued to be in contact with many who loved her. After retirement she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved their Granny deeply. Pat was a member of Oregon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her son, William Lee; her grandsons, Michael and Matthew Pinkston; her brother, Jack Spencer; her brother-in-law, Monte Riggs; her sister-in-law, Anita Spencer and her nephew, Chuck Riggs. Pat is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Jim) Hendrix; Cindy (Jeff) Hendrix; her sister, Barbara Riggs, daughter-in-law Beth Pinkston, and sister-in-law, Jayne Spencer. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Ryan Hendrix (Jane), Melissa (Larry) Hopper, Nicole (Jamie) Amodeo, Alison (Derek) Fell, and Lara (Grant) Rhoten, eight wonderful great-grandchildren and many nieces. A private family service will be held at Westlawn Cemetery Chapel in Farmersburg with Pastor Ron Riggs officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to either, Kindred Hospice, 4122 S. 7th St., Terre Haute, IN 47802 or Terre Haute Humane Society, 1811 S.
