Patricia Laverne "Patty" Surber, 69, of West Terre Haute passed away on Friday, January 13. 2023 at her home surrounded by her beloved family.  She was born in West Terre Haute to Fredrick Lydick, Sr., and Laverne Smith Lydick.  Patty loved to sew and tend to her beautiful roses.  She also loved animals, especially her beloved cat Licorice.  She and her husband, Rick traveled for many years with their son, and then their grandson to watch them play baseball.  Patty was their biggest fan.  Her children and grandchildren were her biggest accomplishment and greatest joy.  She was the rock of their family and will be missed by so many.

Patty is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roscoe "Rick" Surber, daughter Christina Brown (Brad) and son Nicholas "Nick" Surber (Amy), grandchildren Swade Brown (fiancée Jordyn Cook), Ryan Brown (special friend Evelyn Adams), Olivia Surber, Nicholas Surber, Jr., and Zachary Surber. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Jerry Lydick, Fred Lydick, Jr., and Johnny Lydick.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.  Service will begin at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m with Pastor Kathy Roush officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Patty can be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society or Ollie's Canine Campus.  The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Rafat Abonour of the I.U. Simon Cancer Center, their visiting nurse Faith Phillips, and their very special angel, niece and provider, Tammy Pearson for all the love, compassion and care given to Patty.
