Donham Brown
April 8, 1932 – February 20, 2021
Norma "Joan" Donham Brown went to be with the lord on February 20, 2021 in the Gibson Family Hospice Unit at Union Hospital. Where she was surrounded by family. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on April 8, 1932 to Raymond Donham and Grace Sumner Donham.
Preceded in death by her parents, first husband Charles Connett, second husband Philip Brown, sister Nellie Trout, sons Kenneth Brown, and Timothy Brown, granddaughter Stephanie Beddow Goodwin, and grandson Brian Grayless.
She is survived by her daughter Vicki Connett Beddow, granddaughter Tiffany Beddow Shorter, bonus daughters Phyllis (Bill) Mitchel and Mary Ann (Bill) Grayless. Daughter in law Judy Brown Lintz. Nieces that were like daughters Joni Ditto, Sally (David) Joseph, Connie (Donald) Wilson, 13 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, and several great nieces and nephews that were like grandchildren.
She was a former president for the Vigo County Democratic Women, member of the Eastern Star, Red Hats, former member and treasurer of Pleasant Valley Community Church of Prairie Creek, El Shaddai Emmaus Walk 15, Christian Women's Connection, prior to Covid attended 8 th Avenue Baptist Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary 972, Lifetime member of the American Legion, and a member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftsman Local 4. She was a devout Christian that loved traveling across the US with her cousins and niece and often talked about the time she visited the "Holy Land". She loved playing Hand and Foot with her card buddies every week and meeting with her Forever Friends monthly (pre-Covid). One of her favorite past times was being Happy Hannah and teaching Sunday school at Pleasant Valley. She will be sadly missed here on Earth by her family and friends but know we will see her again one day in Heaven.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2021 at DeBaun Funeral Home 4-7pm. Eastern Star will present a service at 7pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1pm officiated by Pastor Judy Lintz followed by burial at Roselawn. Due to Covid masks are required. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
