NoraBelle Reed, 96 of Terre Haute went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, February 16, 2023. She was born February 17, 1926 in Vigo County to Curtis Petty and Bonnie Reed Petty. NoraBelle graduated from ISU where she obtained her Master's specializing in Orff teaching method. She was a music teacher with the Vigo County School Corporation, a member of the SAI and Masters Chorus.
NoraBelle is survived by Stephen T. Reed (Peggy Cavins) of Terre Haute and their children Regina Reed (Mike Strain), Jessica Hastings (Jay), Wayne T. Reed, Ryan L. Reed (Evelyn), Loramy Davidson (Jordan), Joe Reed (Valarie), and George Reed; Betsy Grubb (Kenneth) of Terre Haute and their children Bonnie Wagner (Greg), Curtis Grubb (Rachel), Sarah Clutter (Jeff), and Mark Grubb (Mandalyn); Elijah E. Reed (Gill) of Scottsboro Alabama and their children, Elijah Everett Reed (Melody), Ralph Wryland Reed, and Benton Reed (Emily); Amy Woodason (Richard) of Terre Haute and their children Matthew Woodason (Anna), Jacob Woodason (Myra), Seth Woodason (Jessica), and David Woodason (Emily); Lora Porter (Mike) of Harvest Alabama and their children Loran Porter, Wade Porter (Emilie), and Brenna Anderson (Stephen); Peter Reed (Pamela Cacioppo) of Terre Haute and their children Diana Cacioppo (Wyatt McGeary), Caleb Reed (Dannis), Hannah Gowen (Chance), Lydia Reed, and Chloe Reed. She is also survived by forty-seven great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Reed, Jr., her parents, and siblings Etta Goble, Elijah Petty, and Betty Wadsworth. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Southside Church of Christ. Funeral service will be Monday, February 20, 2023 at the church at 9:00 a.m. with burial following at Prairie Creek West Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
