Nila Joan Murphy, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.  She was born August 15, 1930 in Vigo County to Thelma Lucille Worley.  Nila graduated from Indiana State Laboratory High School .  She married Melvin C. Murphy in 1965.  They owned and operated the Jomel Garment Factory in St. Bernice for many years.  After retiring and moving to St. Petersburg, Florida they opened a mini storage facility.  Most of all Nila loved and enjoyed being with her family.

Nila is survived by her son Michael Miller (Kathy), granddaughters Robbin Wilbur (Chris) and Bridget Short, great-grandchildren Cody Thornton (Claire), Corinne Kinnett (Nolan), Reese Wilbur, Dakota Short (Abby), and Devon Short, and great-great grandson Brantley Short.   She is preceded in death by her mother, step father Earl Myles,  husband Melvin C. Murphy, and sister Judy Myles.
