Morris J. Wheeler, 90, of Terre Haute went home to be with the Lord on Sunday July 2, 2023 in his residence. He was born December 30, 1932 in Patoka, Indiana to Norman Wheeler and Monzell (Mounts) Smith. Morris worked for 38 years at Felix Cleaner's and for 28 years with the Terre Haute Police Department as a crossing guard. He is survived by his daughter, Shelia Gillihan; special friend, Dorothy Bruce; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Wells) Wheeler; daughter, Debra Brown; son, Ronnie Wheeler; step-sons, James Crosby and Kenneth Crosby and sister, Norma Jean Brock. Morris was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge. Visitation will be Friday July 7, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Pastor Keith Taylor will officiate.
