Montana Rose Ellinger, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday May 3, 2023 in Regional Hospital. She was born January 3, 1938 in Kankakee, Illinois to Mattie and Martha (King) Cardin. She is survived by daughters, Tammie Garland (Jimmie), Pam Pirtle (Robert), and Tena Kennedy (Bill); son, Buddy Ellinger (Amy Hann); sisters, Pat Neff and Elvie Green; brothers, Gill Cardin and Virgil Cardin; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter Ellinger, who died May 23, 2008; sisters, Violet Cline and Nedder Cardin and brothers, Frank Cardin, Willard Cardin, and Johnny Cardin. She loved to karaoke. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
