Michelle Kay Cole, 54, of Terre Haute passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, after a 15-year extensive and very courageous battle with cancer.  She was born on October 27, 1970.  Michelle was lovingly referred to as Coleslaw by her friends.  She attended Indiana Sate University and studied music.  Michelle worked at the Conservatory of Music for many years and gave private music lessons.  Although her life was not easy, she always had a smile on her face.  Her grace, kindness, and strength were admired by those who knew her best.  She was funny and witty.  Michelle's sense of humor was always present, even in tough situations.  To know Coleslaw was to love Coleslaw!

She is survived by siblings Trela Good, Tonya Combs (Phillip), John Cole (Amanda), Mike Horon, Dennis Ross, and Gloria Slawnikowski, many nieces and nephews, Jim and Brenda Pradke and their child (Jamie) who were like family to her, and her beloved friends to the end, Amanda Dowell, Craig Rice-Lunn (Doug), Jeff Colvin, and Terri Fulk. Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Pamalea Fitchett, Robert Horon, Joe Horon, Annette Jones, Billy Ross, and Tammy Ross.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Service will begin at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Sister Betty Hopf will officiate.  Burial will follow at New Harmony Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations of remembrance may be made to the American Cancer Society.
