Michael Thomas Weir, 68, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday June 20, 2020 in his residence. He was born November 27, 1951 in Terre Haute to Harley K. and Della V. (Maggio) Weir. Michael is survived by his wife, Rita May (Harden) Weir; daughters, Shannon C. Nelson (Steven) and Tiffany L. Dycus (Jessie); sister, Linda Pearman (Bill); brother, Tim Weir (Cindy); several grandchildren; niece, Melissa Strole and several other nieces and nephews and his oldest friend, Dewayne Moss. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Amy K. Weir and Michelle L. Weir and sons, Jack L. Weir and Michael T. Weir, Jr. and granddaughter, Abagail Rowe. He was a member of Prairie Creek First Baptist Church and retired after 35 years with the Prairie Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Graveside services will be Friday June 26, 2020 at 1:30 pm at West Lawn Cemetery in Prairie Creek with Nicole Webster Ivy officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. DeBaun Springhill Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses.
