Michael “Mike” Dragon, III, 93, of Brazil passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Mike was first and foremost a servant of Jesus Christ. This was displayed by the heart of love for his family and service to others.

He was born on March 29, 1933, in Terre Haute to Michael Dragon, II and Mary Agnes Crowley Dragon. Mike was a 1951 graduate of Glenn High School where he was a multi-sport athlete. The majority of his life was spent working as a general contractor and he owned Dragon Construction. Between 1979-1981 he served as the general contractor to build a 1,000-seat church, Castillo del Rey, in Monterrey, Mexico. Mike also completed the renovations of the other existing buildings associated with the church. Upon his return home, Mike resumed his contracting business and began installing new furniture in college dorm rooms while employing and training young men and women in life skills. He used his skills to serve God on the mission field, as he led and organized multiple work teams to Latin America, Hungary, and the Caribbean.

Mike became a man of faith at Burnett Church. He served at World Gospel Church and was a member of Grace Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 54 years, Ernestine Carol Petit Dragon, and three siblings. Mike is survived by his wife of 17 years, Donna Sue Stearley Dragon, his children Michael Dragon IV (Patricia), Angela Sue Dragon Roberts (Wayne Michael), Daniel Dragon (Malinda), Pamela Ruth Dragon Spidel (Keith), and Lisa Ann Dragon Haverly (Philip); twelve grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, and many extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be held again on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mike Roberts will officiate. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with committal by Pastor Mike Pringle.
