Melba J. Dunnagan, 83, formerly of Terre Haute, Indiana, entered into Heaven to receive God's eternal grace on Sunday, August 2, 2015. Melba was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Marjorie Ranum; her brother, Paul Ranum; her husband of 52 years, Floyd T. Dunnagan, and their son, Mark Dunnagan. Melba is survived by her daughters, Karen Dunnagan and Lynn Dunnagan (Michael Tappy); grandsons, Benjamin Tappy and Nathaniel Tappy; brother, Bennie Ranum (Margaret); sister, Annette Vencel (Don); sister-in-law, Janet Ranum, two aunts, Margaret E. Ranum and Velma Jean Frost, and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews. Melba was a talented seamstress and a gifted vocalist, who devoted many years of service to the church and choir. She loved teaching children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and enjoyed her work as a classroom Teacher's Aide at West Vigo Elementary School. As a daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, sister and friend, Melba was generous, compassionate, forgiving, loving and steadfast. The family is grateful for the expert and loving care that Melba received as a resident of Good Samaritan Healthcare Center, where she had many beloved caregivers and dear friends. Visitation was on Wednesday August 5, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel, 85 East Springhill Drive, Terre Haute, Indiana 47802. With funeral services at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment was at the Hauge Lutheran Cemetery near Daleyville, Wisconsin. Friends and family who wish to honor Melba's life with a charitable gift are encouraged to donate to the Good Samaritan Healthcare Center, 3500 Good Samaritan Way ,Jeffersontown, Kentucky 40299.
