Max Eugene Helton Jr., 66, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on November 16, 2023. He was born on September 5, 1957 in Terre Haute, IN to Max E. Helton and Carol J. (Storm) Helton. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 4 IN/KY for 48 years. He also owned and operated Apex Masonry Inc. for 34 years. On September 3, 2010, Max married Kathy (Criss) Helton. He was an avid bicycler and swimmer. He also enjoyed beekeeping, being outdoors, and animals of all kinds, especially his big dog Hutch. His faith was a very important aspect of his life. Max was a longtime attendee of Mt. Pleasant Church, and he very much enjoyed his life group.

He is survived by his loving wife, sons Jason Helton (Katricia) and Cole Helton and daughter Leah Helton, brother Darion Helton (Shelly), sisters Kim Newton (John) and Carla Monroe (Richard), grandsons Cory Helton and Tucker Helton, great-grandson Parker Helton, sister-in-law Laura Anderson (Darren) and several neices and nephews that he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by both of his parents.

A visitation will be held on December 2, 2023 from 10 AM to 1 PM at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with a memorial service starting at 1 PM following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to either the Terre Haute Humane Society, 14th and Chestnut Community Center, or Mt. Pleasant Church.
