Mary Josephine Moore "Mary Jo", 90, of Terre Haute passed away June 23, 2013 at 4:35 p.m. She was born on June 27, 1922 to Theodore John Hauer and Mary Ann (Dosch) Hauer in Prairieton, IN. Mary Jo was a member of St. Benedicts Parish. She graduated from St. Anthony School of Nursing in 1943. She worked as a RN for Dr. Ed. Voges, St. Anthony Hospital, ISU Health Department, and retired from the Vigo County Health Department in 1985. She was a member of VFW #972 Auxiliary, St. Anthony School of Nursing Alumni Association, German Oberlandlers Club, and Prairieton Fire Department Auxiliary Rug Cutters. She also volunteered at St. Benedict's soup kitchen and Beacon School of the Valley. Mary Jo enjoyed traveling, gardening and cooking. Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Thomas E. "Curley" Moore; siblings Theodore J. Hauer, Dorothy Brentlinger, and Helen Michl. She is survived by children Thomas E. Moore Jr., his wife Nancy, Timothy J. Moore, John F. Moore, his wife Kan of Birmingham, AL, Cathy Ann Tarrh, and her husband Mark of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Matthew Clark, Sarah Ashley Blubaum, Derek Tarrh, Brandon Moore, and Myra Jo Woodason; great granddaughter Olivia Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews that she had a special affection for. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. in St. Benedicts Parish, 111 S 9th Street, on Friday June 28, 2013. Father Ed Goldbach will be officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday June 27, 2013 in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
