Mary Alice Kirkman, 77, of Terre Haute passed away on December 6, 2013 at 7:58 a.m. She was born on November 18, 1936 to George Thomas Scarbrough and Edith Irene (Setty) Scarbrough. Mary was a pastor's wife for 35 years. With her husband, Cecil Kirkman, they served as missionaries in Africa for 2 ½ years. They are both members of the Bible Holiness Church. Mary is survived by her husband of 57 ½ years Pastor Cecil Kirkman; children Rev. Wendell Kirkman, his wife Gloria, Dr. Kenneth F. Kirkman, Ramona J. Thomas, her husband Henry, Gloria S. Breidenbaugh, Dr. Stephen E. Kirkman, and his wife Tina; 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brothers James Elmo Scarbrough and Tom Scarbrough; sisters Martha Paddish, Alberta Davis, and Wanda Herrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Floyd Scarbrough; and sister Ruthie Dunn. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bible Holiness Church, 2555 Layher Drive. Rev. Dwight Hatfield will be officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be in DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive, on Monday December 9, 2013 from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Visitation will also be at the church on Tuesday before services from 10:00a.m. until 11:00a.m.
